As per a comment left by a gracious member, I have decide to share my morning rotations.
This is a Standoff: Graveyards has helped me through tumultous times where no amount of mind altering drugs would do
Not only is This is a Standoff a cure all for attention defecit disorder with its constant changes and eloquent melodies, it pulls you into the meaning and the feeling of this song. It made me want to plant trees in places where sparse vegetation abounds but I have no trees. This song is a call. Which is what we all want to do with our music, inspire a rearrangement of our thought processes.
I'm not going to call it punk, but I will say it stands above and alongside many genres of punk. In the sense that it moves fast. Once you grasp the beauty of one melody or riff they are already blowing you away with another one and they all fit so perfectly within one another. You never have to ask yourself why they chose that change because they give you no time to think about it. Their whole collection is like this. Superb writing and collaboration. If you haven't heard of these fellows, you need to do. Especially if you are a musician. You will appreciate it. These musicians are artists musicians.
My only qualms would be that the lyrics vary from intense and provocative to 'needs some rework'. But this freedom of expression is a beautiful staple of the underground scene. A scene in which I hope they remain. They are much to real and hearty to be taken in by corporate business bullshit. Which is something they have managed to do quite well, considering their success. You need to hear this band. Just google them and you will find. But don't download illegally. Itunes will gladly provide all the services you need. My suggestion would be to check out 'Graveyards' first. Then go from there.
